Adionics
About
Adionics is a French company that has developed a direct lithium extraction (DLE) technology for recovering lithium salts from brines without evaporation ponds.
Its closed-loop liquid-liquid extraction process uses Flionex, a patented, non-flammable organic phase, and produces high-purity lithium chloride without conventional reagents. It says the thermal regeneration step saves up to 90% of strip water. The process can treat salt flat brines, geothermal water, oilfield production water and battery recycling streams, and the company is working on recovering lithium from used batteries.
The 2025 Battery Report lists Adionics among emerging companies in lithium mining and lithium chemicals.
