Inductive Automation
About
Inductive Automation is a US software company that makes Ignition, a platform for industrial SCADA, HMI, IIoT and MES applications.
It was founded in 2003 by Steve Hechtman, a control system integrator for 25 years, who wanted an alternative to costly legacy SCADA software. Ignition is database-centric, web-deployed and cross-platform, and is sold with unlimited licensing; editions include Ignition Edge, Cloud Edition and a free Maker Edition. It serves industries including manufacturing, automotive, data centres, water, and solar and battery energy storage, and works with system integrators through an integrator program.
The 2025 Battery Report lists Inductive Automation's Ignition under manufacturing process control.
