About

OMI is an engineering and manufacturing company that develops products for OEM customers, combining mechanical, electrical, electronics, software and energy engineering.

It builds custom battery systems from 12 volts upward in lithium iron phosphate, lead-acid and other chemistries, with battery management systems it develops in-house. OMI is also developing its own LnFP cathode, an iron and manganese material it says runs stably at charge rates up to 20C, and a 21700 cell built on it, and is discussing licensing the cathode to cell manufacturers.

OMI was founded in 1999. It has more than 200,000 square feet of production space across the USA, Mexico and China, including manufacturing in Puebla, Mexico.
