About
The Solar Energy Industries Association is the national trade association for the U.S. solar and solar plus storage industries.
It works with its 1,200 member companies on federal, state and local advocacy, market rules, codes and standards, trade and manufacturing, and consumer protection. It also publishes research, including Solar Market Insight and the quarterly Energy Storage Market Outlook, produced with Benchmark Mineral Intelligence, plus a solar and storage supply chain dashboard.
SEIA was founded in 1974 and is based in Washington, D.C. In 2026 it announced it would combine with the Coalition for Community Solar Access. Volta's Battery Report 2025 drew on SEIA data for its pages on U.S. DOE battery funding, equity stakes and project cancellations.
