SPARC Evolution is a cleantech company developing next-generation refining technologies for critical materials recovery. Our proprietary platform directly converts lithium-ion battery waste into battery-grade precursor cathode active material (pCAM) and lithium hydroxide, achieving >95% recovery efficiency and over 50% lower cost and CO₂ footprint compared to conventional processes. SPARC delivers fully refined, battery-grade outputs ready for use by cathode manufacturers, effectively closing the loop in the battery supply chain. The process eliminates costly and complex recycling steps, replacing them with a fewer, more efficient steps that produces no wastewater, minimizes waste generation, and is compatible with both NMC and LFP chemistries. Our process and products have been validated at pilot scale, confirming high recovery rates and product purity that meet industry specifications. Batteries made from SPARC’s recycled materials have demonstrated performance on par with those made from virgin materials, providing a strong foundation for the next phase of scale-up and customer qualification. SPARC Evolution is currently scaling from pilot to demonstration, partnering with OEMs and material producers to qualify product quality and secure offtake agreements. Our long-term mission is to enable a circular, domestic supply of critical materials essential to the clean energy transition.
