How this list is compiled

Listed companies make equipment used to produce battery cells or packs: electrode mixing, coating, calendering and slitting; stacking and winding; formation and aging; laser welding and assembly lines; dry rooms; and inspection, such as X-ray or CT, vision inspection and end-of-line testing of cells, modules and packs. Lab-scale equipment makers are included and labeled.

Not listed: resellers and distributors with no products of their own, testing labs, general factory-automation firms without battery-specific lines, suppliers of parts to equipment builders (such as laser sources, scan heads and X-ray sources), equipment for making battery materials or separators, makers of lab test equipment such as cyclers and test chambers, consultancies, and cell makers that don't sell production equipment.
