Elementrailer is a cleantech mobility startup building the next generation of intelligent, electric utility trailers for commercial fleets. While electric trucks and vans have rapidly advanced, trailers remain passive “dead weight,” causing up to 50% range or fuel loss, billions of dollars in wasted energy, and increased safety risk. Elementrailer was founded to close this gap and make towing compatible with electrification. Our solution transforms the trailer from a liability into an active, self-propelled fleet asset. By integrating an electric e-axle, regenerative braking, modular LFP battery packs, and onboard intelligence directly into the trailer chassis, Elementrailer reduces towing energy loss, improves braking performance and stability, and provides zero-emission mobile power at the job site. The system actively assists propulsion, recovers energy during braking, and continuously monitors load, location, and health through embedded telematics. Elementrailer is designed specifically for light- to medium-duty commercial use cases where towing is frequent and costly—construction, landscaping, municipal and utility fleets, and rental providers. Our modular platform allows one smart base to support multiple trailer configurations, maximizing utilization and return on investment for fleet operators. The company has built and tested working prototypes, secured early customer interest, and earned multiple awards while advancing patent-pending IP around motor synchronization, battery architecture, and smart trailer controls. Our go-to-market strategy focuses on pilots with commercial fleets and rental partners, followed by scaled deployment through OEM and distribution partnerships.
