Ensurge Micropower ASA
About
Ensurge Micropower develops ultrathin solid-state lithium microbatteries in the 1 to 100 mAh range for hearables, wearables, medical devices and industrial IoT sensors.
Its cells are anode-less: lithium cobalt oxide is deposited as a thin film on rolled stainless steel, a proprietary inorganic solid electrolyte replaces liquid electrolyte, and the lithium layer forms only on first charge. The batteries come in surface-mount packages for standard pick-and-place assembly, and the company targets twice the volumetric energy density of conventional lithium-ion.
Ensurge Micropower ASA is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange and operates from San Jose, California, and Oslo. It began as Thin Film Electronics, which turned to solid-state batteries in 2020 and took the Ensurge name in 2021.
