About
Peak Energy develops and builds passively cooled sodium-ion energy storage systems for the power grid and AI data centers.
Its first product, the GS-1.1, has no fans, chillers, compressors or fluid loops, uses NFPP sodium-ion cells made without lithium, cobalt, nickel or graphite, and is designed to run 20 years without scheduled maintenance. It is built as a drop-in replacement for existing battery energy storage, using standard inverters and EMS integration.
Peak is based in California and Colorado, with offices in Burlingame and Broomfield, and has a system operating in Watkins, Colorado. It is building a factory in Sacramento to produce up to 4 GWh of systems a year, starting in Q1 2027.
