Sunergy (formerly SCPS)
About
Sunergy, formerly SCPS, is a French independent contract R&D company specialising in zinc battery technologies.
It traces its roots to 1969 at Battelle Geneva, holds about 60 patent families and has carried out more than 500 research contracts; two earlier industrial operations were bought by Duracell and Suez. Its work covers nickel-zinc, zinc-manganese dioxide, zinc-air and zinc redox flow batteries, and it says its nickel-zinc technology, its most mature, can exceed 5,000 cycles at 100% depth of discharge. It runs a pilot line and has taken part in EU projects such as LOLABAT, with EverZinc and others, and the zinc-air project ZABSES.
The 2025 Battery Report lists Sunergy among European zinc battery manufacturers.
