High Performance Battery (HPB)

It describes itself as a German battery technology developer organised as a Swiss stock corporation, backed by more than 300 private investors. It offers exclusive market licences by region and application, manufacturing licences, and, for the automotive industry, component licences for its HPB Solid-State Electrolyte. HPB says its non-flammable electrolyte gives ten times longer cycle life and up to 50% better environmental balance. The technology rests on more than 30 years of research by founder Prof. Günther Hambitzer, and its base patent is registered in 96 countries.

The 2025 Battery Report lists HPB among solid-state battery players in EMEA, with an undisclosed electrolyte system.
