SOLiTHOR
About
SOLiTHOR is a Belgian developer of solid-state lithium batteries and of a roll-to-roll process meant to let lithium-ion manufacturers move to solid-state cells.
Its platform is a sol-gel-derived Solid Composite Electrolyte (SCE), based on a decade of research at imec in Leuven led by Prof. Philippe Vereecken. The company is developing pilot-scale cells, refining its SCE formulations and validating them with partners, and says its thin electrolyte works with various cathode materials and raises energy density. Its target markets are aerospace, defence and aviation, consumer and industrial devices, and land and sea transport. It is based in Sint-Truiden, led by CEO Rodrigo P. Navarro and founder and CTO Dr. Fanny Bardé.
The 2025 Battery Report lists SOLiTHOR among solid-state battery players in EMEA, with an undisclosed electrolyte system.
