About
Talen Energy is a U.S. independent power producer that owns and operates power plants and supplies power to data centers.
Its 14 generation sites produce about 15.5 GW from nuclear, natural gas, coal and oil, and about half of its output is zero-carbon. The fleet is anchored by the 2.5 GW Susquehanna nuclear plant in Pennsylvania, which supplies a co-located Amazon Web Services data center campus. Talen has partnered with Eos Energy, a maker of zinc-based battery storage systems, to explore building long-duration battery storage at its Pennsylvania sites.
The 2025 Battery Report shows Talen in the 'energy supply' layer of the AI energy stack on its data center page.
