About
Tokai Carbon is a Japanese maker of carbon and graphite materials, headquartered in Tokyo.
Its products include graphite electrodes, carbon black, fine carbon, friction materials and industrial furnaces, and its Tokai COBEX business makes carbon products for smelting. It also produces anode materials for lithium-ion batteries in phones and electric cars, using the graphite production know-how it built up over about a hundred years, and aims to deliver uniform quality at low cost for large EV batteries.
The 2025 Battery Report lists Tokai Carbon among large-cap anode material producers.
