It manages about 8 million metering assets for energy suppliers and business customers and provides energy data services and advisory work. Its low-carbon arm, SMS Low Carbon, funds, delivers and optimises behind-the-meter infrastructure for commercial and industrial sites, including solar PV, battery storage, low-carbon heat and EV charging, and runs funded residential retrofit programmes that give households solar PV and battery storage with no upfront cost. It also delivers smart water metering, for example for Southern Water.
