tozero
About
tozero is a Munich company that recovers critical raw materials, chiefly lithium and graphite, from lithium-ion battery waste.
It reports 80% recovery of both lithium and graphite at industrial scale, about 1,500 tonnes a year of battery waste recycling capacity online, and a first-of-a-kind commercial demonstration plant under construction, which it calls Europe's first lithium and graphite recovery line. It is seeking partners among e-mobility firms, electronic-waste recyclers, battery makers and second-life battery companies. The company is led by Sarah Fleischer and Dr. Ksenija Milicevic Neumann.
The 2025 Battery Report shows tozero in the Recycling box of its map of startups and university spin-offs.
