Zinergy
About
Zinergy is a UK maker of paper-thin, flexible printed batteries for Internet of Things devices such as RFID, Bluetooth and other wireless labels, tags and sensors.
Founded in 2015 by researchers from the University of Cambridge, it designs its chemistry, synthesises materials and prints cells in volume on roll-to-roll lines. The batteries use a water-based electrolyte with no lithium or mercury and can be cut or punctured without catching fire. Standard products come in 1.5, 3.0, 4.5 and 6.0 V series, with the 6 V cells delivering peak pulses above 500 mA for NB-IoT and LTE-M. Zinergy has R&D in Europe and China and a 2,200 m2 production site in Shenzhen.
The 2025 Battery Report lists Zinergy among European zinc battery manufacturers.
