AZA Battery
About
AZA Battery develops electrically rechargeable zinc-air batteries made only from cheap, widely available materials, for stationary storage and mobility.
The company has worked on the technology since 2008, and after more than fourteen years of research is moving from the lab to an industrial process, building pilot production at its facility in Belgium. It says its prismatic cell has a bill of materials below $15/kWh, a manufactured cell cost below $30/kWh at scale, and energy density on par with LFP. Vincent Dujardin is CEO, and Dr. Suren Matirosyan, R&D director, is a co-founder.
The 2025 Battery Report lists AZA among European metal-air battery players and European zinc battery manufacturers.
