Cerebras
About
Cerebras builds wafer-scale AI processors and the systems and cloud service that run them for AI training and inference.
It was founded in 2015 by Andrew Feldman, Gary Lauterbach, Michael James, Sean Lie and Jean-Philippe Fricker to bring wafer-scale computing to market. It launched the WSE-1 chip and CS-1 system in 2019 and followed with later generations. Organisations in medical research, cryptography, energy and agentic AI use its systems as on-premise supercomputers, and developers can use them through pay-as-you-go cloud access. With G42 it built the Condor Galaxy network of AI supercomputers.
The 2025 Battery Report shows Cerebras among illustrative companies in the 'AI chips' layer of the AI energy stack on its data center page.
