About
Granode is a Swedish startup developing a silicon-graphite anode material for lithium-ion batteries.
It says cells made with its material deliver 20% higher energy density than those using conventional graphite anodes, and that the material is a drop-in for existing cell designs and manufacturing lines. The material is made from feedstock readily available in the EU, which Granode says is more than five times cheaper than the silane gas used in conventional silicon-graphite production. The company is based at the Ångström Laboratory in Uppsala.
The 2025 Battery Report shows Granode in the Graphite box of its map of startups and university spin-offs.
