Vianode
About
Vianode is a Norwegian producer of synthetic anode graphite for lithium-ion batteries in electric vehicles.
It became a standalone company in 2021, building on R&D that started at Elkem in 2016. Its first full-scale plant, Via ONE at Herøya in Norway, started production in 2024, and it runs a technology center and pilot plant in Kristiansand. Via TWO in Canada is its first large-scale plant in North America. Vianode says its graphite is made with about 90% lower CO2 emissions than standard material, and it is also developing recycled anode graphite.
The 2025 Battery Report covers its graphite supply deal with GM, running from 2027 to 2033, and its $3.2 billion plant investment in Ontario.
