Hakusan
About
Hakusan is a Japanese company that makes precision slitters and also develops seismic observation and disaster-prevention systems.
Its slitter for battery materials cuts lithium-ion cathode and anode electrodes and separators with high accuracy, using a numerically controlled cutter stand that sets the blade position in micrometre steps to reduce burrs and dust, and it switches between gang and Goebel blade combinations without changing parts. It also makes film and foil, compact and narrow-width slitters. Established in 1986, Hakusan is headquartered in Fuchu, Tokyo.
The 2025 Battery Report lists Hakusan among Japanese battery equipment makers for the slitting step.
