Cathode active material is one of the four main materials in a lithium-ion cell, and L&F develops and produces a range of cathode products for batteries used in IT devices, home appliances, power tools, electric vehicles and energy storage systems. Its stated strengths are cathode material design and process technology, formulation, and combining materials application technology with mechanical parts, and it runs an innovation center.

The 2025 Battery Report lists L&F among large-cap cathode producers and among cathode producers in Asia-Pacific.
