Renault Group
About
Renault Group is a French carmaker whose brands are Renault, Dacia and Alpine.
With more than 125 years of history, it is shifting toward electric vehicles while still developing low-carbon combustion and hybrid powertrains through its Horse entity. Its strategic plan, futuREady, launched in March 2026, includes an additional €13 billion of investment in France, where the group has chosen to transform its existing sites rather than move production abroad. It describes itself as the last major French car manufacturer.
The 2025 Battery Report notes that the Renault Austral will use LNMO battery cells, consume 12 kWh/100 km on the WLTP cycle and be produced from the end of 2028 at Renault's factory in Palencia, Spain.
