About
Whisper Aero is a U.S. maker of quiet electric propulsion, which it calls UltraQuiet, for aircraft, drones, defense systems and commercial products.
It says its electric thrusters are about 20% more efficient and 20 dB quieter than conventional ones, scale from 5 to 500 lbs of thrust and work from 40 to 400 knots. Applications range from aircraft propulsion and military drones to leaf blowers. Co-founder and CEO Mark Moore led NASA's distributed electric propulsion projects, including the X-57, and co-founded Uber Elevate. Its engines are built in Tennessee.
The 2025 Battery Report lists Whisper Aero among major battery-electrified aviation players in the Americas (eSTOL/eCTOL).
