Sinergy Flow
About
Sinergy Flow is a Milan startup developing a low-cost redox flow battery for multi-day energy storage, using sulfur, a byproduct of the petrochemical industry.
The company grew out of the doctoral work of CEO Alessandra Accogli with co-founders Gabriele Panzeri (CTO) and Matteo Salerno (COO), and was set up in 2022. Its modular design lets customers choose the energy-to-power ratio, for durations above 10 hours. Sinergy Flow has validated the technology at kW scale on the grid with the Italian utility A2A, has raised more than EUR 9 million including a EUR 7 million seed round in 2025, and is building SF1, a utility-scale prototype of more than 100 kW.
The 2025 Battery Report lists Sinergy Flow among Europe's metal-air and flow battery players.
