IMABATTERY
About
IMABATTERY develops second-generation iron-chromium complex redox flow batteries for long-duration storage of renewable energy.
Founded in Bellevue, Washington, in 2018, it completed the design of its iron-chromium flow battery that year and has verified the technology and built and tested a prototype of its core product. The company says its aqueous system has no fire risk, uses abundant iron, chromium and water, shows no capacity decay and discharges for eight hours or more. IMABATTERY is a registered trademark of Cougar Creek Technologies, LLC, based in Kirkland, Washington, and the company seeks partners to bring the technology to market.
The 2025 Battery Report lists IMABATTERY among metal-air and flow battery players in the Americas, in its iron group.
