About
Pipistrel builds light aircraft, motor gliders and electric aircraft for flight training, general aviation and special missions, and is part of Textron.
It says its Velis Electro was the first electric-powered aircraft to receive a type certificate and is approved for pilot training in day VFR operations. The range also includes the Voyager trainer, the Panthera, the Explorer light sport aircraft, the Alpha Trainer, the Virus SW, and the Taurus Electro and Sinus motor gliders. Pipistrel offers maintenance in Slovenia, a global support network, technical training and Rotax engine service.
The 2025 Battery Report lists Pipistrel among major battery-electrified aviation players in Europe (eSTOL/eCTOL).
